Careers
Our program does far more than just train students to go into journalism.  Our graduates thrive in fields from the Web to advertising to the news media to public relations to music videos to all manner of corporate positions.

The key is that all these areas require the ability to express yourself clearly, through words, images, audio, video and other means.  These skills – communication skills – are the single most valuable commodity a job applicant can have in today's world.  And there's no better place to learn and polish these skills than the SJSU School of Journalism & Mass Communications.

Communication Skills
Who says communication skills are important?  Virtually every employer in the high-tech marketplace of today, that's who.  Check out the opinions of some of the leading career-placement and business sites on the Web:

In a study which polled top executives in 58 of America's largest
