Cecelia Baldwin
Cecelia Baldwin is known among the faculty for her research and publications but is known to her students as the creative that worked in NYC advertising. While her fellow faculty members may ask about research methods or statistics, her students tend to ask, "You're a Doctor?"

She enjoys both sides of academic work but is definitely in it for the teaching and the contact with students, ushering them into the world of advertising creative and, in the advanced layout class, ushering them out into the real world of creatives in advertising.

She also loves copywriting and feels that although it's great to see a research book published, it's also good to sit down and write some copy or, better yet, to read some of her student's killer copy.

She also wants her students to know that advertising has a impact on their lives. She tells them to be proactive for an ever-changing culture, creating images/writing that reflect the positive about us all— and leave the stereotypes behind.

Her degrees reflect her dual nature with an MFA (terminal degree in the arts) and a PhD. She went back to get her doctorate after she had been teaching for a while and enjoyed the other side again—to be the one asking the questions and just sitting there listening seemed like such a pleasure. She wishes she could pass that feeling on to her students, but is more of a realist than that.
